Can you help make Christmas special for people experiencing homeless? We had a wonderful woman named Debi reach out to us. Debi is looking for crafty people to help her with a project to gift all our shelter guests with homemade quilts as Christmas presents. Debi is looking for creative people to make new homemade quilts throw size or not larger then a twin. No design or color restrictions. She suggests a small inspirational message on back encouraged but it’s not required. Debi is organizing a donor gathering to be held early winter for all donors to view quilts. Contact Debi McCann if interested in helping out with donation mccannaut@yahoo.com Thank you, Debi and everyone who is making this project possible.
We we’re also gathering stocking stuffer gifts for every guest. We usually have 43 people living in our shelter on Christmas day. If you have any questions about gifts email gretchenf@bangorareashelter.org

Yes! I will leave a lasting legacy. Consider leaving a gift to the Bangor Area Homeless Shelter during your estate planning.
Did you also know you can make a Required Minimum Donation from your IRA retirement account tax-free? The qualified charitable distribution rule allows traditional IRA owners to deduct their RMDs on their tax returns if they give the money to a charity. The rule can effectively reduce your income taxes by lowering your adjusted gross income. Check with your tax adviser to see if this could work for you.
