Bangor Area Homeless Shelter to open Warming Center

The cold weather and the snow storm that is predicted to hit Monday evening has driven many, but not all, of those who live on the streets in Bangor into the Main Street shelter.

“The director has been working pretty diligently on opening a warming center from 8 o’clock at night to 6:30 in the morning, and that will be located in our day area,” Curry said. “That is for folks who either can’t stay in a shelter for whatever reason overnight or that make that choice to stay outside.

“So this will be a place for them to come in and at least sit and stay warm and get some coffee, some snacks,” he added. “That is going to open on the 16th of December and stay open until the end of February.”   Watch the full story here
