Bangor Area Homeless Shelter receives $20,000 Grant from Newman’s Own Foundation…..Funding will support those who are homeless in our community

Bangor, Maine – Bangor Area Homeless Shelter has been awarded a $20,000 grant from Newman’s Own Foundation, the independent foundation created by the late actor and philanthropist, Paul Newman.  The award to Bangor Area Homeless Shelter was made by Newman’s Own Foundation as part of its commitment to the empowerment of individuals.

The grant to Bangor Area Homeless Shelter will be used to help support the overnight shelter, soup kitchen, food pantry and winter warming center operated by the shelter.  “Our ability to help homeless people and those in need depends on the generosity of organizations like Newman’s Own Foundation and the support of our community” said Boyd Kronholm, Executive Director.

The Bangor Area Homeless Shelter is a dry shelter whose mission is to support and strengthen the community by providing emergency shelter and supportive services to people who are homeless or at risk and to advocate for collaborative, locally driven solutions to end homelessness.
